Too bad our legislators are too busy with "common sense" gun laws to implement such a program here... I think this will greatly reduce negligient diacharges in the area for generations to come.

I like policy that promotes education, and this is exactly that.
 
Ah, a back to the fifties moment.

Now, if I were a gun range owner in the area, I would be working with the police department to start a small caliber pistol team for 12 to 14 y.o. girls who had completed the classroom portion. Why this group? Girls this age are competitive and adventurous enough to embrace the program. Envy will motivate older girls and where there are girls boys aren't far away. It is good PR for the PD or CSO.
