good guy with a gun...

I'm kinda surprised to read this in the Oregonian... we dont often read about a gun saving a life in the main stream media...

in this case a guy on the job engages an active shooter and stops him cold. Now we will never know if this was the next mass killing... Im fine with that.

Yeadon Police Chief Donald Molineux said that, "without a doubt, I believe the doctor saved lives."

"Without that firearm, this guy (the patient) could have went out in the hallway and just walked down the offices until he ran out of ammunition," Molineux said.

a bit more info on this apparently the employee works in a gun free zone and thus in violation of corporate policy. I hope they see the folly but I doubt it...

Amazing if you read the comments on the original article - the anti-gunners are taking 'shots' at the doctor (a psychiatrist) from having the gun in the first place. Never mind he stopped what could have become a potential mass shooting, never mind he saved the lives of his co-workers - he had an 'evil' gun and deserves to be punished and chastised for it. We are truly becoming a nation who of people that have lost our way. They scream and cry over shooting victims yet turn a blind eye to the FAR greater number of deaths by tobacco and alcohol. Hypocrisy is strong on the anti-gun side.

Of course the anti-gunners are taking shots at the good doctor. The end game is to get rid of all guns in private hands. Nothing else matters. Science and truth be damned if it doesn't fit the agenda.
