You may wish to bookmark these pages:

    http://www.flashalert.net/

From there you can pick your nearest city, most of which are in the PNW,
Then get the appropriate agencies alerts - Police, fire, schools etc.

And you may want to get the general information at specific cities:
    ex:

    http://www.flashalertportland.net/

    View region report pages:

Portland - Longview to Salem, Astoria to The Dalles
Eugene (Valley) - Albany/Corvallis to Roseburg
Medford - Medford / Klamath Falls
Bend - Central & Eastern Ore.

Seattle - Puget Sound / Western Washington
    Columbia - Central Wash. / Yakima / Tri-Cities
Spokane - Eastern Wash. & No. Idaho

    Boise - Southern Idaho

Colorado Springs (Rocky Mountain) - Colorado Springs/Pueblo

    Alaska

I have been using this site for a number of years. You get information and releases direct from the involved agencies minus the media distortion. I get all OSP releases covering the whole state and a whole bunch of SO offices.

Combine that with Twitter releases and you get a pretty good straight shot of information with out the butchering of the media.

Getting a scanner app on your smart phone is a good idea as well. I use Radio Reference.
