Personally, I tend towards forward mounted low power variable optics with plenty of eye relief.

Today I noticed a SeeAll optic sight with fiber optics and tritium in a pawn shop while doing a transfer. I bought it and I am going to try it on a few rifles. So far I think I will like it, but I need to try it shooting first before passing judgement.
