What are some of your favorite Cold War-era films? By that, I don't necessarily mean films released in the 1947—1991 time frame, but rather those that touched upon the diplomatic, military, intelligence, and cultural aspects of the Cold War era.

Thanks for any shares!

Doctor Strangelove

Despite some issues, the satire of this film puts the whole Cold War in perspective. Peter Sellers is brilliant in multiple roles, including a dead-on President that is based on Adlai Stevenson.

Watch the shadow of the "B-52" low-level. It was the shadow of the B-17 camera plane.

Without a doubt... Dr. Strangelove!

Rambo lll (I think?) where Johnny Rambo fought the russkies led me to Charlie Wilson's War, where Texas (D) Sen Wilson (Tom Hanks) got the Afghanis some weapons to battle the invading hoardes of Soviets.

Then I remembered Rocky lV... once again, Stallone fighting a Soviet.

Saying "Soviet" that many times reminded me of Red Heat... a stupid buddy-movie with one good line:
Schwarzenegger: (digital watch alarm goes off) "Time to feed parakeet".
Belushi: "What is that... Russian for jerking off?".
Yeah... it was the 80s.

"That's a fact...JACK"
