I am ready to upgrade one of my optics. I was thinking of getting a spotting scope then I figured I would just invest in a quality 5x25x50 something. I am also jonesing for a form of night vision for cross country navigation and perhaps shooting.

Naturally I came across the ATN X-sight. Their marketing is phenomenal. Night vision plus 5x20 magnification, plus all those other bells and whistles. But I am dubious. All those features for $700 seems cheap. Heck a good 5x25x50 scope is $1,000 or more. Gen two night vision scopes start off around $1k.

Is the ATN X-sight really a scope that does it all for a really low price?

What you're buying is technology, there aren't sensitive pieces of glass, but a camera and screen. Look at some of the videos Dr Detector does on Youtube. He's a local and does a lot of night time rodent and varmint work with a couple different ATN optics.
