I try to at least once a month...and out 50 rounds through it, need to be comfortable with it.How often do you shoot and train with the gun you regularly carry? That is if you truly carry every day.
I see a lot of guns in the classifieds that will have a description along the lines of, "Carried for X amount of time but has seen very little rounds." Shouldn't it be the gun you have the most rounds through? Or am I the odd ball out on this one.....
Whatever gun you are the most accurate with is the right choice in my mind. How often do you shoot and train with the gun you regularly carry? That is if you truly carry every day.

Shoot it about once a month, a couple boxes or more of ammo each trip to the range. Typically, that shooting involves running around a USPSA course of fire for several laps (~150 rds for the day). How often do you shoot and train with the gun you regularly carry? My carry gun has over 15,000 rds through it in 9 years, since I bought it in 2016. I keep a spreadsheet of the ammo I buy/use, and my carry gun is the only one that uses that particular caliber, so it's pretty easy to know what's been through it.I see a lot of guns in the classifieds that will have a description along the lines of, "Carried for X amount of time but has seen very little rounds." Ditto this!Truest statement of the month right here!
I try to shoot every other month. I'm a firm believer you should be proficient with your weapon if you're going to carry it. I carry a Taurus PT145 Millennium Pro .45 ACP. I've put over 5000 rounds through it.I try to at least once a month...and out 50 rounds through it, need to be comfortable with it.
That must be so nice to be able to step outside and shoot. That's my dream to someday be able to do that.Carry p365 sas daily, shoot at least 100 rounds a week thru it and or M&P 2.0. But I can just step out and shoot from deck which makes it easier.
