Hello,
Looking for thoughts or anyone who actually carries two polocies. I currently am a member of USCCA, and wondering if it is a good idea and or practice to carry two, such as adding on CCW. I just firgure we do dual coverage with our personal property, why not with a carry. I am not worried of the cost, just looking for the optimal coverage.

Thank you JR

I am just trying to protect my assets best. If I had nothing then it would not matter. Just like most who own homes, you have an umbrella policy over you main home insurance policy. We are not talking a lot of money for carry insurance, just looking to protect myself the best.

DGU insurance is a good idea, especially in today's litigious society. Where a "good shoot" still has the potential to be financially catastrophic (setting aside any other possible's, including medical &/or emotional).

That written, I haven't considered doubling up ours.

We had armed citizen legal defense network(ACLDN), which has since folded into CCW safe. I "feel" such is "good enough", given our situation, financials etc PLUS given the unlikely possibility of actually having to use it.

That written, everyone's circumstances differ.

I can see the reasoning behind why some folks/families might wish to double up on such.

Hello Camelfilter

Thanks for the adult answer and understanding there are actually those of us that have assets to pretect. I will lookin into DGU. Maybe the next time go around in life I will take the broke route, seems you do not have to worry about anything taken away.

Is USCCA actually coverage? By all reports it's just a subscription where they take your money then they refuse to help if it's ever needed. No personal experience just what I keep reading over and over.

I absolutely agree and that is why the question. I am not sure if any one particular is great, that is why possibly two.

We have Right to Bear. It was highly recommended by people I respect, including LEOs. I've heard nothing good about USCCA, and I've heard nothing bad about Right to Bear, but I've "tested" neither.
I hope when the day comes I no longer feel the need to have self defense insurance it will all have been a waste of money...

Something to consider is that some policies require you to use either their attorneys or ones on the approved list. I asked one of the representatives about having a secondary coverage (US Law Shield, but this was a few years ago and I know they have changed some items in their coverage; this may be one of them). The answer I received is that it was all or nothing with them. I think your question is legit, but may require one to ask questions of the companies and have them show you in writing the details. I miss ACLDN and Marty's style of coverage (being part of a group, not "insurance" coverage).

Good luck with your quest.

Thank you Oxygen Mask, good to know. As I agree, I hope we never have to use it, but not the world we live in and better to have some sort of comfort.

Great point WillametteWill. I will call USCCA. Never thought that, and this is why I added this post, because it is a question that definitely needs opions and expiriences, since there are so many loop holes and the BIG fine print, HA.
