How often do you shoot and train with the gun you regularly carry? That is if you truly carry every day.

I see a lot of guns in the classifieds that will have a description along the lines of, "Carried for X amount of time but has seen very little rounds." Shouldn't it be the gun you have the most rounds through? Or am I the odd ball out on this one.....
I try to at least once a month...and out 50 rounds through it, need to be comfortable with it.

Whatever gun you are the most accurate with is the right choice in my mind.

1-2 times a month!

I carry my baby browning but I wasn't intending to carry it when I bought it, not at all, it is 25 acp.

But it became my favorite gun and I learned to shoot it quite well and got it running 100% reliable, so why not? I was failing to find something bigger comfortable enough for me to want to carry consistently anyways.

Could get a seecamp in 380 but I don't think I'd want to shoot that thing enough to get good at it. The baby will only be replaced if I find a new favorite gun.

So I'm at the extreme end of just carrying whatever I shoot well and am comfortable with, since it is a gun many recommend against carrying due to 25 auto.

I carry a fairly large gun that I'm good with. I always hear from friends or get teased about packing a full size pistol around, but I literally shoot best with it. I have on occasion packed a G42, but but normally I'm packing around something large that handles recoil. No, it's not always comfortable. Yes, its a hassle.

Yes. Yes, I do.

Shoot it about once a month, a couple boxes or more of ammo each trip to the range. Typically, that shooting involves running around a USPSA course of fire for several laps (~150 rds for the day).

My carry gun has over 15,000 rds through it in 9 years, since I bought it in 2016. I keep a spreadsheet of the ammo I buy/use, and my carry gun is the only one that uses that particular caliber, so it's pretty easy to know what's been through it.

Dry fire about 5 times a week. Shoot my carry gun and other pistol about once a month.
At some point I don't want my carry gun to have the most rounds through it.
That is why all my pistols are similar to my edc. Primarily the grip angle for presentation.

My two carry guns, Sp101 357 mag and a Blackhawk in 45 with a 4 5/8" barrel are my most shot hand guns. Still not saying much as I have put 20 rounds through both in two and a half years. At the two year mark I had to qualify with them and scored 100% with both… I'll get back into a better routine once I retire. Working 16 hour days does not leave much time for chootin.

I try to whenever I can. Most basic is any firearm I own I NEED to shoot minimum of 200-500 rounds for me to feel comfortable to be "reliable" for concealment. Then everything else afterwards is just maintence to me.
