False. And time and again hate speech in its most vile and offensive forms are constitutionally protected. You can walk down the street singing every slur in the book, and the ALCU would probably be foaming at the mouth to defend you in court if you were charged with any crime for it.

No worse then the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban added to the Omnibus Consolidated Appropriations Act of 1997. I don't see the problem. You get convicted by a jury of your peers of committing a violent hate crime I couldn't care less if you lose your right to owning a fire arm.

Wait until saying "its ok to be white" is considered a hate crime and see if you change your opinion.

Its not collecting guns its the prevention of getting guns in the future. Think in terms of legally owned machine guns. You cut off the supply and their are less and less every year. Yeah a few people may own them but a right means I can express it without fear of proposition from the government.

Hate speech is just what is hateful during the times. If you remember the 50's it was hate speech to talk about communism and people were persecuted for it. I by no means endorse or want communism but I will and do fight for them to be able to say it.

Judges decide what the scope of protected speech is. As it currently sits there are judicial opinions sweeping nearly every single type of speech into the scope of 1A protection, including video games, stripper dances, porn, racist speech, and darn nearly everything else. Yes conservative speech is currently protected by the 1A but all it takes is a new judicial decision that "hate speech" defined by some rabid anti-Trump justices (Kagan, Sotomayor, Ginsburg) falls outside the 1A (like shouting fire in a crowded theater) and then this proposed law starts disarming conservatives. If the US Supreme Court was stacked with radical anti-gunners this could happen.

Well, look it up yourself. Do a Google search for inciting riot convicted a nd a bunch shows up. one of the 1st ones listed was a Supreme Court decision saying yes to the conviction of some guy for inciting a riot at a clan rally.

See what is going on in Canada, the UK, and other "woke" countries regarding speech laws. That is the fear and a very valid one IMO. You know why? Because there is a very significant segment of the population in this country that is actively working towards the goal of making that a reality here.

Many people don't realize that the Supreme Court is essentially up for vote every time a presidential or senatorial election occurs. And the Supreme Court decides what does and does not fall within constitutional protections.

I do agree there are unnecessary laws that lower our gun ownership rights, those I am against. These types i which convicted criminals lose their rights I am not against.

But part of it is convicting more people. Look at the Crime Bill and 1994 Assault weapons ban. It directly targeted people so they could convict what were before law abiding people. They dont want certain segment of our population armed or have any rights. Im not talking minorities, im talking about middle and lower class people. And they do it in the name of safety and "lack of a sporting purpose" or whatever crap that means.

I can relate. And I know. I'm just joking around too. I love my rights and I love that law abiding citizens get to have and enjoy them as well. And I damn well wil be our marching against bullbubblegum laws trying to infringe, but I've had battered family members in domestic situations, and as a conservative I do not share the same views as bubblegum heads who commit actual hate crimes so I am ok with the concession with their loss of rights due to their own poor behavior and breaking laws.

Its already against the law to cause domestic abuse.

I read court decisions. The finer points matter. Complacency in being informed is what kills rights.
