isn't that the very reason the Framers wrote this so plainly into the Constitution? That arms will surely be available for the use of citizens against government when it gets out of hand?

Its been said by government at every level... "we HAVE laws on the books to prevent ______ crime from happening". well, then, who do not government get off their thick end and ENFORCE existing law.... felons have no firearms. End of pistol packing criminals, right? Legal buyers don't sell to illegal ones (straw buying, they call it) End of guns finding their way into Mexico from Texas gunshops, right? Everyone carrying a concealed weapon registered. End of creeps with pistols in their shirts, right? Full-auto weapons not legal in hands of anyone other than LEO and Mil. Gang and crime rings have none, right? Background checks for every dealer transaction involving firearms. end of criminals having guns, right?

what a sick joke. We spend billions each year to "deal" with problems resulting from non-enforcement of the above few (and reasonable) laws. What is their response? "MORE LAWS, the people are not safe". Precisely--- the very reason we want to have the ability to protect ourselves with lethal weapons.

throw em all out next vote...... at least the ones who have demonstrated their brains are locked in PARK.
