So for the second time in about a month my daughter has had to pull her pistol. The first time an ex-boyfriend broke into her apt. She put a laser on his forehead until the police arrived to haul his @$$ off.
Yesterday she was in the Beaverton Costco parking lot when a very large, black, crackhead tried to break the window of her car to get to her. The little Keltec p32 has a crimson trace mounted on it. Apparently the p.o.s. wasn't too thrilled to find a red dot over his heart and ran into the store. She called the police, told them what had transpired, that she was armed, and that she would remain that way until they arrived. Said when she saw them drive up she would unload her piece, place it on the dash and have her hands up when they approached. Two Beaverton officers showed up, located and arrested the guy. They said they were glad she had her weapon with her as this guy was very high and in Superman mode. They escorted her to Cornelius Pass and told her to keep her weapon loaded and next to her on the seat until she got home. She told me she was ready and willing to shoot the guy, and it was a very sickening feeling.
Another happy ending for a well trained and awake lady shooter, who just happens to be my little girl.:)
p.s. don't scoff at .32acp or Keltec. Has saved her bacon twice now:cool:. Oh, and lasers work!

Thank you for sharing this.

Damn glad she is safe and handled both situations very well.

You must be a damn proud father!

I would encourage her to take some extra time to process what has transpired. After I had to hold a guy with his head in my sights for 29 minutes I was a wreck It honestly messed with me for awhile. I would just encourage anybody who goes through this to take some extra time for self care. Having had to draw on a human before, even though things went well, it takes a heavy toll. I don't think a heavier weight has ever been held by me than the slack of a trigger pulled right to the break with sights on a man's head.

SO I would encourage her to take some extra time to take care of herself and keep the pistol handy.

I am happy that this worked out well for her and that her training paid off.
I would also question what is going on where in about a month as you put it she has drawn on two individuals, maybe crap luck but I would certainly think some self evaluation might be beneficial. I don't think even most law enforcement pull their guns that often. I wish her well.

Geez. I'd consider moving with all that excitement in such a short time.

This sort of thing should make it into the news, not the stories that go the other way.

Good on your daughter, sir. If everyone was as responsible for their own safety as your daughter, this world would be a lot more polite.

Glad she is OK, she sounds like a cool cat under pressure, a lot of people would have pulled the trigger and it would changed their lives after that.
This is the best argument I have seen in a while for having a laser on your pistols. Honestly I'm not a big fan of them but have a daughter that is turning 21 soon and will definitely be getting a CT or the like on it. Kudos to you OP! You brought her up right and it saved her life and the lives of 2 othe people.

You should try having to hose what's left of your adversary off of your kit.... :(

I have never had to and I am glad of it. I never served because I had some disqualifying physical issues.

I am just suggesting that even the lesser trauma of having to mentally prepare to shoot might do well with some time to do what needs to be done to deal with it.

My wife carriers hers crossdraw under a blouse.

A guy I work with shot and killed a guy a few months ago. He was talking to me about it and he said killing the dude didn't bother him. What bothered him was the gun that was pointed back at him and realizing how close his kids came to being fatherless.

Yep, if it's gonna be him or me, it's gonna be him.

I think we women have to use our guns to protect ourselves considerably more frequently than do men. And in nearly all cases the assailant flees when faced with a gun. Most of these never even get reported. If it was two exes in a month or two attempts to assault in a market parking lot it would suggest bad choice ofof boyfriends or dangerous market. But one of each just looks like a fluke.

When I was a kid, I talked to a deputy who said in 22 years, he never had to draw his gun.

Fast forward 25 years and Im in my 14th year and my gun comes out several times every month. Things are different.
