But after a discussion on another board someone pointed out that an internal mag may get around the mag limits in some Blue States much the same way tube fed mags are exempted.

Even with a mag limit of 10 rounds removable mags are still much more practical than the 'trade off' of a no - limit internal mag. Ok, so it might be able to accommodate what? 13-16 rounds but the disadvantages of potential problems and the difficulty of dealing with them coupled with all the other negative aspects isn't 'offset' by a few extra rounds, no - limit scenario.
