People who call them heads or tips are also very often the ones that call the loaded cartridge a "bullet." Then after they order 500 bullets, they will call back complaining about how they ordered 500 bullets but only got the heads.

Privately I refer to cartridges as shells or bullets.....and magazines as clips. Which was completely ok to say back in the pre interweb days. Say it now and prepare for someone to point out the err in your ways. My point being, " So what? " Cant we all just get along? Word of the day is "spitzer". Havent heard that one in awhile.
