I still have my Colt AR15A2 HBAR from the mid '80s
have the original Delta cheek riser and carry handle scope mount
has an original Millazzo-Kreiger 2 stage match trigger from 1991
upgraded to a Danial Defense big hole A4 upper when they first came out
will pass it on to my son when I go

I can just see Carrie Fisher blasting away with that M-16 in The Blues Brothers.

The whole clip is actually pretty good.

Our betters in WA don't think we need one. Funny, when I committed to defend my Country & Constitution, I don't recall seeing a "bill of needs".

has the Washington law reduced mass shootings in schools with an AR 15?
seeing as there was NEVER in the history of Washington state a school shooting with one
There's no evidence that any of the WA gun control laws have worked, and that's the way they like it. If they worked, they would eventually run out of excuses.

I wonder if the barrel is a .223 model? The receiver is marked as such but I'm paranoid enough to only want a 5.56 barrel on an AR type rifle

As far as I know, all the old AR15/SP1/M16/M4 barrels made or sold by Colt for AR receivers, were either 5.56 marked, or a different caliber altogether, like 9mm and 7.62x39?

Edit. It would really depend on the specific model but it looks like the M16A1 retro barrels are 5.56 chambered

Pretty neato. I've never been a super yuge fan of ARs, but I've toyed with a retro M16A1 on and off for years. Built a CAR-15-ish SBR years ago in the similar vein, but I digress.

I run both in my Colt AR, yes the receiver is marked .223, but it has a 5.56 marked barrel
many of my home built (all built before 2020) ARs have .223 Wylde cambers
