If u want a rifle but a rifle. AK rifles are only $599 at palmetto (blem). If you want a pistol buy a pistol. Buying cuz its slightly cheaper and then chasing down bubblegum to weld to it is a fools errand imo. Constantly chasing the cheapest of everything (see previous threads on how can I eat for $3 a day, how can I eat out for $10 for 2 peopel, how to pay off credit cards, etc etc etc just results in a life of being a bottom feeder. Buying smart is wise but overspending on a huge quantity of cheap stuff just to get your mental stimulation fix is not smart Imo. Address the problem, ADD and OCD, and stop chasing cheap crap all the time is what I would suggest.
Wise advice right here.

Lol.

Well then how did arsenal LV sell them to the public??
ignorance of the LAW is no excuse sir

2.1.3 Rifle. A rifle is a firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder and designed to use the energy of an explosive in a fixed cartridge to fire only a single projectile through a rifled barrel for each single pull of the trigger.11 A rifle subject to the NFA has a barrel or barrels of less than 16 inches in length. | 12 inches ________| The ATF procedure for measuring barrel length is to measure from the closed bolt (or breech-face) to the furthermost end of the barrel or permanently attached muzzle device. Permanent methods of attachment include full-fusion gas or electric steel-seam welding, high-temperature (1100°F) silver soldering, or blind pinning with the pin head welded over. Barrels are measured by inserting a dowel rod into the barrel until the rod stops against the bolt or breech-face. The rod is then marked at the furthermost end of the barrel or permanently attached muzzle device, withdrawn from the barrel, and measured.

welding to the detent is not legal

again decision letter

"A muzzle device, such as a muzzle brake or barrel extension, which
is attached to a barrel by means of welding or high temperature
silver solder having a melting point of at least 1,100 degrees
Fahrenheit, is considered to be part of the barrel for purposes of
measurement. A seam weld extending at least one-half the
circumference of the barrel or four equidistant tack welds around
the circumference of the barrel are adequate for this purpose"

Yes.
Sounds all good to me.

Once again, how do you explain a major importer and manufacturer of AK pattern rifles having offered this product? It's particulars are likely well documented in association with this serial number and an unknown quantity of others just like it.

For further clarification, I have done nothing to this rifle. Not even swapping out the furniture.
