My stepfather passed away a couple of years ago. Before he died he gave me his Pre-64 M70 30-06. I told him that I thought his son should have it and he said, "Absolutely not!" They were on the outs because my mom was a troublemaker. Anyway, Chris called me one day and asked if I knew where his dad's 30-06 was and I told him that I had it. He asked if he could buy it from me and I told him no, that I would give it to him because that's where it belongs. We had dinner together last night with our wives and he gave me this Case XX Knife/Hatchet combo. The patent date is 1935 and I found that they were made in 1939 and 1940. I cleaned it up and it's in good, slightly used condition and worth around $500? I thought I'd share this because I'd never seen one before.
