I know that you are now allowed to bring archery equipment on as checked baggage but am unsure about carrying a firearm. You could always carry a crosbow pistol!

AMTRAK says it's against their rules to carry onboard so what's the problem? It's their train, their rules, just like the airlines. No diff. Pack it in luggage or leave it home or break the law and take a small risk.

Certainly

How long in Seattle? Can you mail it to yourself there overnight? Last time I checked crossing state lines on a ferry, boat or train was a federal crime. You are more likely to be hemmed up by the JBT's than being in an altercation. Most altercations would be solved by pepper spray, even then, so carry a big can of pepper spray and a blade. You won't be completely unarmed.

I personally wouldn't risk it, but find another way to bring the tool along.

Underway trains are ripe for active shooter/terrorism. Confined unarmed people with no where to go, and rules that make them victims.

But, I'm sure it won't happen here.
