A steady diet of the same lie becomes truth. The lies are always about fear and division.

A little while back one of the media's top polling guys got caught in a lie, its what they do.

How many times have they ever polled you? :) ;):s0093:
I understand the sowing of fear and division, but what does the media get out of fomenting chaos? Same things as AntiFA, that is using chaos as a lever of Marxist takeover?

In this case, I completely believe that young skulls full of mush are being taught the joys that Socialism pretends to bring.

I've been polled many times, but I don't talk to those jerks. Got better things to do. This may skew polls, but if they are lying anyway, what does it matter???

I can't say my answers are truth, I just have opinions. My opinion is the media is working hand in glove with those who want America to fall.

They divide at every chance they get be it gender, race, politics or the generation folks are born into. Hate, fear and division, its hard to find a story in the media that doesn't follow those talking points.

I got rid of TV and life got better, I won't ever go back to programming.

Agree.

I don't watch Legacy TV, nor Cable TV... there is nothing that is not pure garbage. However, I do enjoy SOME of YouTube, namely martial arts fights, and there are a few talking heads that I watch, but I don't even agree with them all the time. My eyes are shot, so I can't read constantly, and I am limited physically and financially, so the choices to do something else just aren't there. Now I'll stop whining. ;)

I read a bit and get my news from different sites. With news I ask myself what is the writer wanting me to think about his story. If what they want me to think doesn't match with my love of country and the good people in it then I move on.

I live in a old neighborhood that the people are average good Americans yet media tells me to think bad about my neighborhood. Bah humbug.

Most folks are truly decent if they haven't drink the kool-aid the media feeds them. Imho

The Confuser in Chief actually seems to to think politicians in DC are
"the Government", let him.

WE know it's now really the Media conglomerates, billionaire technocrats, bent DA's, corrupt teacher's union bosses, etc....
...... and THEY don't have F-15's or nukes! :s0012:

We know we don't need to over-throw our Government......
.... we just need to overthrow theirs. ;)

We don't need to shoot the puppets.... we just need to cut their strings!

And even more things in play about polls and why they are not accurate
1) Poll bias where the question is leading.
2) lack of trust by the person responding.
3) as you mentioned, sample is not representative.

There is a reason they called TV shows "programming". We've conditioned ourselves to become Pavlov's dogs looking for the next dopamine hit. I recall reading somewhere that studies have shown the critical thinking centers of our brains shut down while watching TV, thus putting viewers into a more passive and suggestable state. Over time the viewer's ability to determine truth from falsity, facts from fantasy, reality from unreality, begins to atrophy. And like crack-dealers, advertisers, marketing agencies, and networks spend billions every year to increase the psychological addiction, manipulation and potency of their product.

Pravda, Tovarisch. Pravda. I actually wrote a thesis for one of my Psych classes 20 years ago saying exactly this... Conservatives single out pornography and its effects, but the same processes are in play deliberately fostering dopamine addiction across all electronic platforms. Even the comments sections of various websites do this, feeding the need to "put a sick burn on that other idiot" or chasing upvotes from the like-minded. Sometimes we even see some of that effect on this very site, though not by design...

Media just repeats the talking points given to them by the swamp. Approval by CCP fact checkers first then repeated until new talking points are given to them.

Tyranny can't exist without a corrupt media.

And many "conservative" sites have spiked comments ostensibly because of deplatforming threats--when I was moderating at RedState, we had a real problem about Lefty trolls liking to plant comments posing as their stereotype of "neo-nazi right wing extremist," screenshot 'em and report 'em to Google and Facebook's Buthhurt Leftist Complaint Hotline... some of the smarter ones would try to delete their comments afterward hoping we wouldn't see.

And then the new Managing Editor decided to fire the whole moderator team because we were closely associated with the M/E she replaced and she didn't like that earned loyalty is non-transferable... not to mention us calling out her BS about "squawk about needing money to prevent censorship of content while aggressively blocking discussions of Election Fraud, the not-adding-up numbers of the Scamdemic or anything else that might be controversial."

Precisely. I worked in the telecom industry for quite a while. They used to talk about designing phone and tablet user interface and apps to increase "engagement" and "usability", which was usually code speak for dopamine addiction. The sales and marketing teams would get sales training in how to trigger the dopamine reaction during a sale. Whether they realize it or not, most professional sales organizations today are trained to manipulate customers for the dopamine (feel good) and oxytocin (trust) reaction. Some trainers come out and say it. Some just call it something different, like "path to the sale", "9-step sales process", etc... but it's still the same goal: Manipulation of natural brain chemistry for less than altruistic purposes. BTW, politicians are trained with these same techniques.

We all like to think we are immune to manipulation, but it happens every day, especially when we turn off our brains and sit like vegetables in front of the TV or jack in to our social medial to get that high. It is why people think reality TV is actually real. It is why confirmation bias works so well. It's why people will vote for a candidate's smile or against a candidate's hairstyle. The problem is that atrophied minds won't even realize it is happening.

I can't say I don't get manipulated, food pictures make me hungry. :s0093:

Marketing psychology is a big thing when the economy is strong. When its not, you get laid off and find something else to do. Wife is a nurse now.
