Quite a few well made war movies, it seems like every great director has attempted to make at least one film about war... If I had to pick just one; Saving Private Ryan.

Was the cow at the end real? I've seen it at least a dozen times and have heard a dozen answers. I once heard that they filmed abroad as to skirt any animal cruelty laws. Doesn't bother me but was curious. I also love the smell of napalm in the morning, as well as surfing any chance I get!
