I put a Leupold FX-2 scout on my chinese type 53 and everyone who has shot it has been quite impressed. Excellent eye relief and focus for that far forward

It makes me smile that you would have a $400 optic on a $99 rifle

Same scope I use on my hunting rifle and it does perform excellently

Burris Scout Scope.........works. I tried 2 difference Leupold. The fixed power & focus was OK at a distance, but when I tried at 20-25 yard......out of focus. the (leupold)variable eir I returned.... only 5-6 inches of eye relief. I'm mounting these on a Marlin guide gun and would like the ocular end just past action. The Burris fixed power (2 3/4 Power) is an older model made in the US is the best. not only does it focus with my glasses on, it also works when I look over my progressive glasses with 64 yr. old eyes. It has 9" of eye relief and focus is good at 20 yds - infinity. I think Burris is now owned by the Beretta Holding Co.
