The dial for zoom has the top of the back mount pushing against it.Probably fine other than looking funny. Want to tell the long story why that's the only way to mount? Not understanding.
o wow i didnt know vortex lapped it for you! thats awesome. i was thinking about buying a lapping kit... just to have oneI would ditch that mount altogether TBO. Take it from a guy that had to send a scope and a Burris P.E.P.R. one piece to Vortex for lapping and mounting as I was all over the map at 100 yards. Even with me mounting and torquing to proper specs. I'm glad you at least moved them both to the upper rail section. Having them on separate base platforms is no bueno.

best customer service ever!! im pretty sold on vortex.i have 3 of their scopes/optics now. all are solid. After the tech determined that the glass was good, he had me ship the mount so he could lap it and mount the scope perfectly level in it via their jig. And a bubble level too. Free of charge.
My whole endeavor with the scope mount is proof I'm still new lol. First single piece mount I bought for this build was 30mm rather than 1in so now I have a spare mount from Redfield.best customer service ever!! im pretty sold on vortex.i have 3 of their scopes/optics now. all are solid.
im not knocking the OPs mount choice but im guessing that if OP put the lapping alignment tools in those rings it would be off and would require a "lap job."
im sold on 1 piece mounts. i prefer warne.
(i had nancys today BTW lol)
I have had good luck with that mount on my Bushmaster Varminter.Bad idea. Bridging the receiver/ barrel gap with a mount will hurt
your accuracy in my experience. Barrel and receiver in perfect
alignment not to put stress on the scope? One piece mount bolted to
the receiver will work best for you. I Like the 1 piece PEPR mounts
heavy duty 1 piece 2" offset. I use Vortex 3 inch offset puts the dot
sight forward enough to shoot prone with AR.
