I didn't mean to alarm anybody, I will wear shoes next time.
I've seen this dozens of times over the years. It always makes me laugh. That bear doing the Ali shuffle - AWESOME.Must have creative defense plan .......

It gets around like a record. I don't remember if it was high school or college that I saw it, either way, it's been over twenty years since I first saw it.I've seen this dozens of times over the years. It always makes me laugh. That bear doing the Ali shuffle - AWESOME.![]()
My bad, the hiker was from Florida. Deployed bear spay and likely ran. Didn't get very far. No human alive can outrun a bear, especially a brown bear, which can quickly hit 35mph, uphill, and in rough terrain. Running from a brown bear is pretty much the worst thing you could possibly do.Second bear attack in under a month. Send more Californians!
We have the best National Parks!
You don't have to outrun the bear, just your buddy. My bad, the hiker was from Florida. Deployed bear spay and likely ran. Didn't get very far. I hunt with an 80-year-old man with bad knees and a bad heart. Cuts down on .22 ammo expenses.Which is why I carry a 22lr in the woods. One shot behind the knee and you don't have to be a Prefontaine to outrun a bear.
With the price of 22 ammo these days, that's not a bad approach.I hunt with an 80-year-old man with bad knees and a bad heart. Cuts down on .22 ammo expenses.
