That was a neat story.
I didn't get this until I read it. Yeah, it's a neat story. Maybe he needs to choose a different sidearm. But it was this little gem that got me:

"He also has excellent character, Quintrell said.

'He's as honest as the day is long," he said. "He doesn't even cuss. And of course, I cuss like hell.'"

I agree.

How is this relevant, or germane to what happened?
Indeed. Bears don't seem to have the language/intellectual skills to judge whether a human has good character or not

I wonder why it isn't being reported by any major news organization. It's Cowboy State Daily and the Pinedale Roundup reporting this. No offense to either publication but would t this make some bigger rags?

Bear attacks aren't that rare anymore, just more reported if in places "bears aren't supposed to be in" or "humans being jerks to bears/acclimating bears to human presence" or "humans being stupid. This is why we should close ""natural"" places to keep humans out"

Sadly can't have people told that a handgun saved someone's life. Especially since he killed one of the bears people think are like the ones they see in disney shows. No doubt a lot of morons would want him charged with a crime for killing the bear.

Well. No less than 4 hits on the grizzly to kill it, from a 10mm Glock.

Though article did include a tidbit about two cubs being with the sow, so I guess now those two cubs are going to a "wildlife rehabilation center" because they lost the mom.

And interesting, the question asked what it'll take to delist grizzly bears from Endangered Species, the death of a senator's kid or some such
