I've been an Amazon Prime member since the beginning of the program. Have had hundreds of packages delivered. ALL were delivered by the promised date and time with two exceptions, both of which they notified me about by email ahead of time.
The issue is whether they get the delivery to you when promised. Not whether the individual delivery worker does things as efficiently as possible. If you aren't getting stuff when promised, report it.
I suspect watching the progress of the deliveries too closely, however--right down to house by house--is sorta like watching sausage being made. However much you like sausage, it's usually not advised.
