I pretty much handload exclusively, so I have no personal issues with centerfire Remington / UMC ammunition. Plenty of what I read on recalls, and personal experience with the 22 rimfire products they make. I just shy away from the Remington / UMC brand of rimfire ammunition. Last month at the annual sight-in service I found a Remington factory 30-06 cartridge with the primer installed sideways and smashed flat. I asked the guy if I could have it, and he gave it to me. When I became a NRA Pistol instructor, I had to shoot factory loads to qual at the range. I bought a box of Remington .38 Special +P at Bi-Mart and they all went bang in my S&W M28. Again, I don't make a habit of buying factory loads of any make. That gets pricy if you shoot alot, and I do shoot alot.
