I'm almost there with you Mike, but you're a better man than me. In the immortal words of Chief Joseph: "Hear me my chiefs. I am tired. My heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands, I will turn the other cheek no more forever." Or something like that.
The whole quote:

"Tell General Howard I know his heart. What he told me before, I have it in my heart. I am tired of fighting. Our chiefs are killed; Looking Glass is dead, Too-hul-hul-sote is dead. The old men are all dead. It is the young men who say yes or no. He who led on the young men is dead. It is cold, and we have no blankets; the little children are freezing to death. My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food. No one knows where they are—perhaps freezing to death. I want to have time to look for my children, to see how many I can find. Maybe I shall find them among the dead. Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever."

---Chief Joseph

Ok, lets say it was a 'workplace accident' - was AB (or the others who are blamed) given a UA?
This is an excellent point!

If we are going to go with 'tragic unforeseeable accident', where the F is the 'investigation'?

I guarantee if I cap one of my employees today, I AM going to jail, I am going to be forced to submit blood and I would have to post bail if I wanted to leave the state and blame my assitant for my own action!

Thank you! I was going to post that but you beat me to it!

Another potential quote from Stalin that we see playing out in the US today:

"We don't let them have ideas. Why would we let them have guns?"

― Joseph Stalin
You are absolutely correct. And it's just getting worse and worse...

Dave Batista got his nose broken making a recent James Bond.

Possibly this scene.

It is a reason to have layers of safety and professionals in charge.
Clearly Hollywood has a knee and elbow violence problem. We need a ban on bodily extremities and a fist registration system.

Unprofessional/criminal negligence and douchebag politics aside, doesn't some realistic prop "gun" exist that might make a loud pop noise, smoke and recoil a little bit, and NOT have the capability to accept/discharge actual projectiles?

Hollywood expends astounding resources to film car/train/plane crashes, battles, decapitations, exploding cities, etc., etc. How difficult or costly would it be to modify or create something like a gunpowder track-meet starter pistol to look like pretty much any real weapon ever made?

A bit tricky? Perhaps, perhaps not.

That "ounce of prevention," whatever it costs, seems simpler, smarter, more humane and far less expensive than litigating the tragic consequences of letting inept children play make-believe with real guns and ammo.

I'm well aware of the actual quote. It's hanging on my game room wall below a picture of Chief Joseph. I've been known to tweak it from time to time to fit my agenda. Thus the "Or something like that." tagged onto the end. I'm not to the "fight no more forever" stage yet. :s0045:

Edit to add: Between this and my post in the Springfield Armory Hi-Power thread, I'm coming to realize not everyone "gets" my sense of humor.

There's a word for what she's trying to achieve, government overwatch of private business…. Yup sure sounds like socialism Communism to me.
I'm done with calling all these latest shennanigans "socialism". The only other word besides pure Communism I would use has to do with "The Great Reset", The New World Order, the U.N, and the U.S. accepting global, and China, dominance.

Hollyweird lives by it's own rules (or not)... rules for thee but not for the elite!!!

It's been said before and bears repeating. There were multiple protocols and procedures in place to prevent such an event from happening. As in most every case of an accident, rules and procedures were violated or ignored, and the end result was that there was property damage, an injury, or death. Passing additional laws or making more procedures won't do a damned thing except make someone feel better about themselves because they made people "do something".

The key is in human nature and the desire to maintain standards. In this case, a lax safety culture along with an overbearing and demeaning producer were a among contributing factors in the death of an employee and injury to another.

The laws of physics do not care if you are playing cops and robbers or not.

Not sure how this simple and indisputable fact seems to be swept away because they were 'acting'.

And if we take the most favorable narrative of the events, AB is handed a 'cold' gun and for NO REASON that has ever been explained, pointed the weapon at another human being and pulled the trigger. Certainly if we take his own statement as fact, he was 'practicing his cross draw' and had no business sweeping his staff. That is negligence. Hot gun, Cold gun, Glow in the Dark gun - they were not shooting film (apparently), so again, there was no reason to point the gun at the victim.

Wasn't trying to be an asshat, and I had no way of knowing that you have the whole quote on your wall at home.
Hence, I provided the entire quote for edification, and not solely for your benefit. Peace be with you...

I agree completely but somehow I 'get the feeling' he was doing something stupid and childish like intentionally pointing and holding the gun directly at her - and then pulled the trigger.

Reports are not being very clear about his exact actions when the fatal round was fired.

Yikes! If you thought I thought you were trying to be an asshat, I really do need to brush up on my writing skills. What I was getting at is I'm a fan of Chief Joseph. I do most of my elk hunting near Joseph, OR and have visited his burial site on more than one occasion.

No worries Sobo. We're good.

Then we are brothers in this, as I consider him a great man as well.

I don't hunt anymore, but I spend a fair bit of time in the Nez Perce NF and pass through the reservation on my way to and from regularly.
I need to make another trip to Nespelem again...
No worries Sobo. We're good.
Indeed, we are.
Cheers, Bobby!
