A member received a leupold scope from another member with a t1 mounted on a side mount and he had told him not to remove it turns out the threads on the inner part of the optic or stripped, a lot of people say one screw is fine. Two screws are fine to run an optic. I reached out to Aimpoint to see if there was any way to get it fixed they recommended me to a third-party person to do a helicoil fix, but from when I'm hearing the t1 was infamous for this, I asked if there was any way I could send the t1 back and trade it for an h1. Now I understand some people would think that was completely unrealistic to do, but you never know unless you ask. but this is the email that I got from - aimpoint and I figured I'd share it with the community, it's pretty shocking to me some of the stuff that they said

What was shocking about the email is them saying the t1 and t2 were only designed to be mounted 1 time and left there, they are 900 dollar optics and holson can manufacture something way less expansive that works well can be mounted several times most gun guys don't leave it on one mount, and there using helicoils in there optics which to me is cheap manufacturing instead of just doing it right the first time just a rant

Choices: You can have it heli-coiled or buy a different brand. While at it, invest in a CDI dial torque wrench. You will be amazed at how we normally grossly over-tighten ALL fasteners.

I have seen YT videos where people mix Super Glue with Baking Soda (and other various items) which sets up HARD. It would seem to me that such a concoction would work to plug the hole. Some work would be involved smoothing it (Dremel?) for a flush fit. Then tap the drill a hole, tap it and see it that works.
Helicoils work well for any application I have used them in the past. I guess they would not loosen under recoil with an appropriate application of LocTite.
