My supply of the old Winchester Silvertip 115jhps is drying up and I need to start reloading. Anyone have any opinions on the latest crop of jhp's in 115gr? My initial plan is to reload with whatever optimum bullet is out there and shoot for practice, but most likely carry factory ammo with the hopefully same bullet.

Currently loading some old Sierra 115jhps (#8110) over 6gr Unique.

Browning hi-power. Primarily a truck gun/carry.

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

I'm a big fan of the Speer Gold Dot. The Hornady XTP is a good design as well, but it has a lot more bearing surface. The increased friction means you can't load it as fast without excess pressure. XTP max loads are lower. The profile of the Gold Dot is also based on ball, so it feeds particularly well. I like Vitahouri powders. They seem to give a bit more velocity for a given pressure.
