Primary Arms has a nice plain 3x9 and a 4x12 hunting scopes that I have been happy with. On GunBroker ADE has similar scopes of surprising quality for about 90 dollars

Any recommendations for a scope for a .270 as a medium level scope - shooting up to 250 yards. Thanks
Basic features to look for would be second focal plane, simple reticle and the widest Field of View. That will set you up with an easy to use 250yd maximum point blank range zero that will also work great with fast target acquisition on close in shots in heavy timber.

A Leopold will be a lifetime purchase in whatever price point your at for "medium"

Thank you for the detailed reply. Much appreciated

Just picked up two Burris 2.5-10x42 for a couple of 270s. One went on a Ruger American gen1 and the other went on a Remington bdl 7600. I have had good luck with Burris.

I have always liked Leopold's scopes. You can't go wrong with them, and they back up their product with great aftermarket service.

My Ruger mod. M77 .270 win. sported a Leupold vari-x-3, 2.5 x8 gold band since the 70's, though rarely left 3 power, I had the extra when needed. rugged, excellent brightness and clarity in low light, more so than its 3-9 brother.. I could not have imagined needing better.
