Also remember this when you and if you end up in court there going to say he had a knife and was 21 feet away from you why did you shoot him HE WAS NOT A THREAT TO YOU GET A GUN LAWYERI agree - but please know that Tueller is a concept - proven with active duty police drawing drawing from a duty holster against a charging opponent - and 21 feet is the number that worked for with a consistent 2 second draw and shoot time. FOR OTHERS the concept should be applied for instance - what is your draw and shoot time from your concealment holster? Multiply that time by the approximate 10 feet per second of a charging BG and see what distance you get. Ideally record your notes and then be able to articulate why you shot the BG with a contact weapon when he was still 10 feet away. ANY CONTACT WITH A CONTACT WEAPON IS POTENTIALLY LETHAL - act accordingly.
