While this is not Oregon so it's off topic, this is expected cuz Supreme Court almost never steps into a case before it's finished. Also judge easterbrook (the arrogant anti-gun 7th judge) prememted scotus from stepping in by fast tracking the briefings, making it so scotus would really be "interfering" if they stepped in at this early point.

Scotus will fix this but it's going to take time. The ultra ultra rare step of scotus stepping in as an emergency is not really possible becasue prick judge easterbrook fast tracking things. He only fast tracked it after scotus asked for briefings making it look like they will step in. This should NOT be viewed as any kind of stance or decision by scotus on AWB or mag bans.

That was expected. SCOTUS is notorious in wanting the full body of work to go through the court system before they get involved, if at all. It was a hail mary throw.

Waiting for the appropriate case to settle the Second Amendment, in its entirety, once and for all.

In the mean time, rights are being voted away by legislatures all across AmeriKa.

Because they didn't understand what the measure truly was. The title and the description were not clear that they were removing the last tool the minority party has in standing up to a supermajority in the legislature.

If it had been titled, how to give away your rights and freedoms, it probably, just probably, wouldn't have passed.

Yes it was. That's why the majority of the people who voted for it were Radicals, Liberals, or Progressives. They know that the only thing the Republicans have in this state are boycotts and walkouts. This is exactly what they want: a supermajority Democrat state.

Everyone knew what that law was about, it said so in the voter pamphlet.

Make Portland the place to be for 10+ years with big contracts, job offers, attempting to make I-5 Corridor between PDX and Seattle the next Silicon Valley,bring in all these East Coast and Californian techies and hipsters, and make rural Oregon life harder by attacking the timber& paper industries, attacking the hunter/fisher sportsmen, preventing mining claims, selling mineral rights to big Corps, and buying farms to turn into corporate farms?

The 2023 Legislative session ends June 25th. We'll see how this walkout goes. Perhaps the Oregon Republicans should book flights out of State in preparation for the State to try to send OSP goons after to drag them back?
