I just went out to put the geese up
a warm 27 deg F
but at least 1/4" of ice over the frozen mud
how does an Army fight in that, even our Kubota diesel tractor spins it's wheels
and a human falls on their butt, even with winter boots
I have ice cleats for my boots, but does the Russian Army?

now, I have a gravel road, but 1/4" of ice over gravel is still a skating rink
actually, the gravel looks beautiful under the ice, I know this since I fell on my butt and had a chance to look at it closely

when I first move to the Lewis River Valley in 1997, there was a field up by Dike Access Road off I-5 filled with M113s
it appears Weyerhaeuser bought a bunch of them for logging up around Mt St Helens in 1980
the Mountain erupted before they could deploy them, so they sat down here in Woodland for decades
don't know where they eventually went
