tannerite
Tannerite is a brand of binary explosive targets used for firearms practice and sold in kit form. The targets comprise a combination of oxidizers and a fuel — primarily aluminum powder — that is supplied as two separate components that are mixed by the user. The combination is relatively stable when subjected to forces less severe than a high-velocity bullet impact, such as a hammer blow, being dropped, or impact from a low-velocity bullet or shotgun blast. It is also designed to be non-flammable — the reaction cannot be triggered by a burning fuse or electricity.
Because it is sold as two separate components, it can be transported and sold in many places without the legal restrictions that would otherwise apply to explosives. The term "tannerite" is often used to refer to the mixture itself, and other reactive targets and combination explosives are often generically referred to as tannerite.
25 exploding targets for sale, in original plastic containers. Each one new, sealed, never opened. 20 Sure Shot 1/2 pound containers, 1 Sonic Boom 2 pound container, 4 Sonic Boom 1 pound containers. All for $100. I am in Tumwater, WA, near Olympia, exit 101 on I-5.
My buddy and I put one of those heavy target shooting balls on top of a Tannerite canister and then...well see for yourself in the video...the ball came down, missing my head by a few feet but ended up landing directly on the stock of my buddies Marlin 1895 45-70 that was hanging over the table...
This has been in my garage since 2012 just collecting dust. I do not have the time to shoot this. Its free to whichever member wants it. There is maybe about 5 pounds of tannerite. Use at your own risk as I have not shot this since 2012. Please consider making a donation to NWFA.
