Completely for the fun: What would you say is the most unusual carry gun that you've packed with CHL/CCW/CPL? Pics? Unusual is pretty wide open; make/model, caliber, action, material, historical provenance, modifications, et al.

Enjoy. :)

As Clint Smith said (paraphrasing), "Often confrontations happen near your car, for the simple reason you are out and about where people are, not sitting in your living room". A quick deploy sling bag makes it easy to get small but very capable weapons to and from your vehicle, and avaialable quickly for use in the vehicle. You can also take with you if in a sketchy area or situation for off-body carry. Simple example was taking pictures of northern lights. Total darkness. Stranger's cars coming and going, stopping, getting out, etc. In the middle of nowhere. Camera equipment someone might want to steal. Also for defense in the vehicle if someone confronts you with their handgun you have them outgunned from the get-go. All of these have played that role as sling bag vehicle gun. Also could be used in any role that an "urban rifle" would be of benefit. Or mob attack, etc etc. Glock with USW and mp5k clone can fit under seat so sling bag not really needed for storage. I'm not talking about daily walking around although the Glock and mp5k are small enough for on-body carry.

Old video fyi in case anyone is not familiar with "urban rifle" concept:

When I used to travel a lot for work and stay in cheap, sketchy hotels, I discovered my Sig MPX-K fit perfectly inside a 15" laptop bag with the stock folded.

The external pocket carried 3 spare 30-round mags and a suppressor, when so inclined.

Made for a very potent package that could be discretely carried through a hotel without raising an eyebrow.

It's not unusual.....
Hold on there Tom Jones....:D

A Ruger Security Six with a 2.75 inch barrel.
Not really a unusual firearm ...but uncommon.
I shot it very well....should have kept it....sigh.

The urban hand grenade-

Cargo pockets as well as jacket pockets make it easy to get hand grenades to and from your vehicle. You can also drop a couple in a fanny pack or backpack and take with you if in a bad location or rolling through the hood. They are great for defense fighting out of a vehicle too. If someone pulls a pistol on you then you will definitely have time to reach for the grenade. Pull the pin, toss out the window and drive. Brings a drive by to a whole new level.

They really shine in the city too. Or if you get stuck in a riot, or find yourself in a gun fight in the middle of the street and are outgunned by multiple people. Plus they are extremely quiet and inconspicuous. Their size is ideal as they can fit in cup holders, glove boxes, door panels or tucked away under a seat.

Stay frosty.

The urban hand grenade-
This reminded me of a story from my teens. Had an acquaintance who had recently been discharged from the military. Kind of a fringy guy when it came to rules and such. Somehow, he managed to depart from the services while in possession of some grenade simulators. Used to carry them in his car, you know, just in case.

He ended up having a run-in with some bangers (not someone to shy away from confrontations with four other, likely armed individuals). They pulled up next to him, he tossed the device in their car, and sped off. He said the sight in this rearview was pretty spectacular.

My memory is not what it used to be, so I can't remember who this was or what state it happened in. Do not try this at home.

And thanks for the pro tip on how grenades fit in cup holders. Who knew?

SEE! Even the dummy grenades work. Haha.

Extremely reliable & .25 auto...two phrases that are rarely seen together. Glad you found the golden ticket!

I've carried a variant of the same gun for almost 20 years. I'm pretty boring. When I first started carrying a tried a snub nose as well as a 1911 variant. Never got to crazy. Didn't prefer either of them. Ended up with a striker fired pistol and have stuck with it. It's what I know.

My most unusual gun would probably be my 26X that I made/did the frame mods myself. Simply because it's not available from the manufacturer in the configuration I wanted. Other than that the most unusual thing I carry is probably a TQ and an American flag in my pocket.

I'm stupid and I'm simple. When I find something that works and works well I become a creature of habit. Probably why I am just now getting to point of being proficient with red dots. Took me a long time to make that jump too.
