I have a Winchester model 88 lever action that won't eject a spent shell (yes I'm positive it's a spent round). The action won't open. Anyone know if this is a common issue, or suggestions on where to take it if it's a major issue?

Thanks

what id try id get a wooden dowel from a hardware store have a friend hold the rifle with a light tension on the lever like you are trying to eject the shell with the dowel in the barrel( lightly) tap the dowel against the empty casing . if it moves pull the dowel out and see if you can eject it out

I used the cleaning rod and that worked. Thanks.
