I bought this American Derringer because I used to watch the show. I would say the modern ones might be a little heavy to support and extend on a rig like that. Probably just Hollywood magic but fun to watch when you're a kid.

The originals were a little lighter and fired a .41 short rimfire. The TV show is mentioned, apparently West carried up to three derringers...
