When to use FL size and small base size dies?

Some folks might get the wrong idea here; the RCBS PM "dies" are not dies as such but are tools you can use to get an idea of what is happening inside the chamber of your rifle. I think it is an error to call them dies but I have never much agreed with RCBS about much of anything--except that these "dies" are a very useful tool. I also use the Redding instant indicator and Wilson case gage ----all are are listed in order of effeciency, in my opinion. Some of the cartridges I shoot are not listed as RCBS PM dies..........more's the pity.
