I'm always curious to know what everyone drives.

I have a 2000 Toyota 4Runner Limited with an ARB Bull Bumper and a Warn M8000 winch. While I love owning it, I don't drive it enough, so it's up for sale.

Next is Jenny's car, a 2002 Hyundai Accent. One of the best decisions we've ever made was purchasing this car. Jenny has a 50 mile round trip commute and the 38MPG highway really takes some of the pain away from the pump. I know why these cars sell for $8k new, and it's not because they're bad cars. Working on them, you can see how they streamlined the assembly process to the point where everything fits together like lego's. Very smart, and good for me when I'm working on it.

(No photo, you guys know what these look like)

Third is my 1989 BMW 325i convertible. This is the fifth or sixth E30 BMW Jenny and I have owned, and they really are amazing little cars. I pulled the motor out of it to reseal all the gaskets last year and as of today, the engine is still apart. Hopefully it'll be done in time to enjoy the last bit of summer.

Fourth is this 1991 BMW 525i. I bought this from the second owner with 123,xxx miles on it. It sat for quite a while and no joke, must have had a 1/4 inch of leaves and dirt in every crevice possible. I was literally shocked once Jenny and I got it to the shop and cleaned it up, it's one of the cleanest and straightest E34's I've ever seen.

When we lived in Central Oregon, we had a jeep in an outback. The outback performed better in the snow than the jeep. We sold the jeep.

Jeeps are a lot like MG's in my experience. I like them for what they are, it just seems like a lot of their owners are chodes, and they're not as capable as their fanboys think they are. Goes for most things though, to each their own.

I love my Subarus, but I'm not puffing up my chest and saying they're overland capable. They get me on the beach, through the snow, and up the mountains. That's good enough for me.

A few years back most of my friends had jeeps. I was finally in a position to build my dream 4x4.
I bought a TJ and spent a fortune on it. Quality lift, ARBs, Warn bumpers and rockers, the $$$$ Warn winch with digital readout etc. Me being me I also did some upholstery work and keyless entry and power windows...😎

Sold it within 2 years. Love Hate relationship.. Jeeps are the dumbest least practical most uncomfortable to drive rigs ever. And they really aren't even that great offroad either.

My nephew wasn't much of a mechanic. Then he bought a Jeep. He learned a lot about fixing stuff after that. He is much more mechanical than I am after driving my Dodge pickup for the past 28 years, and Toyota cars/SUV's most of my life.

Just one of those rigs that isn't great in the snow and it's inferior off road capabilities. 🙈🤣

I'll show myself out. 🤣

With any 4WD/AWD vehicle, tires are 99% of what makes them "good in the snow" has very little to do with the vehicle design itself, outside of ground clearance and if the AWD vehicle just has an economy style transfer case/system.

It's the tires and the loose nut behind the wheel

we had a 92 cherokee for about 275,000 miles, the wife commuted to work in it. studded tires in the winter, never missed a day of work. sometimes she was the only one that showed up!!

I agree but don't say that to people who believe the hype about their Subaru or the likes

I was being extremely sarcastic about my Jeep.

Another tip for traction in off road conditions is to air down your tires, which requires a means to refill them.

My Jeep is bone stock and I have no complaints about it's capabilities. I also know it's not an "end all, be all" vehicle. It has it's limitations.

And the most limiting factor can sometimes be the nut behind the wheel.

Subarus are great vehicles. I have nothing disparaging to say about them. They work great for their intended purpose and many enjoy them. I've seen 1st hand Subarus go places on trails that surprised me.

As a Jeep owner, the biggest rivalry is with Toyota owners, not Subaru.

Is that a stuck Toyota 🤣

This was mine. 1985. Bought new, used the hell out of it for 15 years and 240,000 miles. Miss that rig. 33s, Truetracs both ends, 4.88s. Never let me down.
