Nice! Yeah, I'll admit I struggled with the front grill for a while until I saw one in person. That really helped change my mind.

Yep, I've had two others. A 2010 M3 and a 2018 M2. I've loved every one!

Been stacking cash so purchased a beater, 2002 QX4 with 126,000 for $6,400.
Driving it almost four years now and only had to put a radiator in it.

Been begging the wife to upgrade her Lexus before all that's left is Hybrid or turbo four bangers 👎

I highly recommend doing that replacement sooner rather than later. Seems all the manufacturers are moving to 4 cyl/turbos….

The '23 Highlander is…. And I looked at the '24/'25 GMC Arcadias, yup only 4 cyl/turbo…. Looks like the Honda Pilot and Passport are still available with a V-6…

Well Fellers and Fellettes, I went and dun it, bought my "Retirement Car" AKA Mid Life Crisis car, a Classic Corvette, and not just any Vette, a Piece of Junk 64 C-2 project that will probably end up costing an absolute fortune to get back to running and on the road!

Behold!

Like I said, a Piece of Junk, it's frame is rusty, crusty, adn musty, the interior is best described between awful and non existent, no engine or trans, and the fiberglass needs a major workover, no cracks that I could find, but it's not pretty ether, about the only good part is ALL the chrome and stainless is still there, and the dash is complete and salvageable, otherwise, JUNK, but hey, now it's My Junk, and I got a Plan!

Stay Tuned for more Madness!
I'm actually Keeping these wheels, I think they are a perfect fit or what I got planned, and they are period correct old school cool!

That's quite the project you got there. Love the original Stingray's, my dream car is a '63 Split Window, with all the goodies. One day if Powerball is ever good to me….

I nearly pulled the trigger on a Beauty of a project 63 Split window, but the seller thought it was solid gold despite it's condition and we just couldn't come to terms, so I settled on the 64, which is actually pretty rare in it's self, being an original Hi-Po 327 Fuel Injected car, though not only is the 327 gone, but so is the Fuel Injection System! No matter, for what little I ended up paying for this Junker, I think I did pretty good!
1724036771119.png I do wish we could have made a Deal, but the nearly $75,000 asking was FAR to rich for my blood, but , like you say, Win the lotto and go for it! It's insane what these C-2 Vettes get even today!

According to the Vin # of this Vette, THIS is what she looked like when new, Not sure if it had these wheels or poverty caps, No side exhaust just like this, Cobalt Blue with Black interior!

Love it! And if I'm not mistaken those wheels had authentic spinners. You'll have to post progress as you dig into this and begin the restoration process. Some of us will be living vicariously through you and this adventure.

I grew up around Corvettes, Dad bought his brand new off the showroom floor in 62, and has had it ever since, it's mostly original, but we did an engine swap back in the 80's and kept the original under the bench ever since! Having grown up in them, Mom bought a 95 C-4 Vette when she retired, nothing too special, but it was a nice stocker, and fun to drive none the less! buddy's Dad has a 67 427 Tri Power Vette we all rode around in, and one of our neighbors had a 65 Convertible 327 Hi-Po 4 speed, I was destined to have one of my own some day, now I got one!

So, first full day digging around the Vette, it's not as bad as it appears, got the tires and wheels off and started pulling the suspension bits, most came apart with out much effort or resorting to the Blue Wrench, so far. Today's plan is to finish dissembling the entire undercarriage and start pulling body parts so I can separate the frame and body and get the frame up on my fab table and give it a real good once over! Sent the rims off to a guy in town that refinishes alloy wheels and he said it would be a piece of cake, so we're off and running now!
Deciding on power, I'm leaning heavy towards a Dart Alloy Rat block, keeping it at 427 inches, but optimizing things like rod to stroke ratio and such, I want a Big Block, just not the weight of a iron block and all that! Yes, I know an LS would make killer power, but unless and until you have driven a high po Big Block, you will never know the power of the dark side, no mouse motor will ever match the grunt of a high compression Rat Motor! Gotta decide if it's a Dart or G.M block, then decide on heads, Dart, AFR, Brodix, Indy, or G.M. Merlin Square port heads! Crank will likely be G.M. but maybe SCAT! Will figure it out before I get to that point! Trans is a Tremic TKO I was originally going to put in the wife's Cougar, till she decided last min to go automatic, so, saved myself some coun there!

I have an American truck, as everyone knows well, these are the best trucks in existence. I'm on a more recent one these days, but I still have this bad boy.
