I read the local paper every morning, and check email and NWFA just about every day. Several times a week I check Lost Arts Press, Popular Woodworking, The Firearm Blog, and Archaeological News. When the weather is really bad in the winter, I'll do some more genealogy research at Ancestry. I don't watch TV. I enjoy retirement, but need another 100 years to finish my to-do list.

Dang can't check NWFA at work. So only catch a bit from my phone on break/lunch what have you.

Something to do with there browser settings and certificates or somesuch. Oddly not because firearms related...everything firearms related (Cabelas, midway, SGammo, PSA, any other board etc all are directly blocked "weapons" or some-such).

I can log onto Survivalistboards no problem at work. They have ok firearms sections, but more preparedness based. As opposed to general sportsmanship as we have here. Rather cumbersome board to use as well, unlike the incredibly user friendly system @Joe Link has set up for us here.

At work I use my Chromebook laptop. I did for years use the station I was working from but a couple years ago the boss started warning us to avoid doing anything "non work" from our office. We all have to sign a form each year that we expect no privacy when using the work equipment and blah blah but I never worried. Sadly some started to abuse the privilege, like they could see people logged into Hulu or netflix for hours at a time. So boss was warning us that they may start going after people for abusing the privilege. I even then had a nice small laptop so I just took to using that until MS decided to hose W10 with the no choice updates. Annoying as hell. So tried Wife's old Chromebook, liked it so much bought my own. Perfect for playing on here while I am at work. As long as you have Wifi they work great for this site and such.

So last summer I had huge electric problem at home fried every thing when the refrigerator repair man came I basically told him what was wrong because I looked on YouTube Lol his exact words were THAT YOUTUBE IS GOING TO PUT ME OUT OF BUISNBUS

It is a fantastic way to find out how to fix a lot of stuff. Never been a "car guy. Used to be able to do the most basic stuff but as the cars got to where engines sat sideways and everything was electronic I soon stopped all but oil or lights. Had an old Saturn that was on it's last legs. O2 sensor went one day at work. Ran so bad I had it towed to shop. Couple C notes to fix. Soon it happened again. So I looked and damned if there was not a youtube showing even an idiot like me how to fix this. found I could clean the damn thing and slap it back in and even order a new one from Amazon if needed. Kept that heap running me to work quite a while longer till it got traded off.

How many are leaving out that "other" 50-75% of the content that gets erased from your browser history?:s0087:

When my Dad was around and finally wanted to learn it was humorous to say the least. I finally convinced him to get a PC as he was forever calling or coming over for me to look something up. So he gets a new PC, I set it up at his house with an ISP. First thing he asks is "so where is the porn"? I said Dad it's more like where is it not now. So off he goes playing. Weeks later he buys a very expensive flat bed scanner back when they cost a lot. I have to go over to set it up. Wife is with me as I am doing so. My god it looked like he had been on ever porn site on the web. As we are driving home she mentions this. "Did you see all that porn he has been looking at?" Yes dear I did, it's like he turned into a teenager again when he learned how to use that thing. :)

10%er;)

Seriously... I hear you. I took my family to a movie the other day... My 16 year old daughter met us there and parked on the other side of the theater... after the movie the wife and I went right... she went left past a group of dudes in thier 20s standing outside. they all stopped what they were doing and all 6 sets of eyeballs followed her butt all the way to her car:s0117:
It took a hellofa lot of restraint to keep my leatherman from jumping out of my pocket and castrating the lot of them.
It was one of those moments where the paradigm shifts, and your whole perspective changes.

LOL, one shop I worked at Wife comes down one night to bring me something. Has our older daughter with her who was about 20 at the time. One of my guys crashed into some stuff with the forklift checking her out. I pretended like I did not see it and Wife had no idea what was happening. As soon as they left a buddy of mine came over laughing. Said did you see Hugo crash the forklift checking out your Daughter? I just chuckled and said yes, but then she dresses to be seen so it's to be expected. :)

Letherman come on man I know you had your hand on that 1911 or Glock What you gonna do DAD NOTHING it's a rough life .lol my neice comes to my house after school with her friends and gussg what following them yep you gussed it boys lol little punk asd boys with there skinny jeans and there sagging jeans long hear short hear and no hear lol that life
When daughter started dating I made sure I just happened to be cleaning a gun when the guy showed up to pick her up. As I would say, so you will have her home when she promised her Mom she would be back, right? Daughter would just shoot me a mean look and leave. :)

Same here, I've been searching for a 68-70 Mustang for my last car, the memories of my first one just will not die.:cool::cool::cool:

Good luck... that's gonna make the '87 Crown Vic Police Interceptor and '83 Firebird I'm looking for seem easy.

Have always said if I ever hit the lotto I will have to have a fully restored Shelby Mustang. When I was young and broke I always wanted one and of course it was no way. Now days I suppose I could if I wanted one bad enough. Just could not enjoy it. I would have to have enough cash that losing 150K or so would be nothing to me. Otherwise I would be scared to death to ever drive the damn thing. :-(

You're gonna laugh about why those two specific seemingly-pedestrian rides... after total rebuilds from the wheels up including completely new powertrains and electrical systems, then the rebuilds begin to turn them into Agent K's MIBmobile (no fancy alien transformation, the Little Red Button would just control either the turbos or tank of gigglejuice) and KITT.

I agree but I'm not gonna drop that kind of cash although I'd opt for something I could easily drive like I stole it, like back in the good ole days. Think the original Gone in 60 Seconds.....

I check in here , then at Muzzleloader Magazine's web site : The Campfire...
Look up some music videos of different genres...And some random gun , book and history searches ...mostly this is of the : "Hey who made or has experience with ..." / who wrote , who was there at that historic event , sorta thing...

Ooh wee boyo!

My Dads daily driver for around 20+ years was a '66 convertible (just the straight 6). He had restored it twice.

The second time after my brother borrowed it one night to head into Boston with friends. Got T boned (no injuries, thankfully) on the way home.

His "project" car was a red '68 Mach 1. All matching #'s.

Ohh boy was I pissed when he sold it from under me. Then after a bit he asked if I would have driven it responsibly & afforded the tickets I'd have gotten? ...No dad...

I handed the kid my daughter started dating my 1911. After he cleared it (I was slightly impressed) and handed it back, I told him to remember I have a gun with your finger prints all over it....

Couple years later and we are ok friendly terms but I know he is just the right amount of scared of me.

I signed his last birthday card:

From Joe - you a cool kid, I hope you have a great year and happy birthday.

From the dad of the girl your dating: I like you enough to make it painless if I have to put you down.

There was a chuckle and then some uncomfortable (not from me but my wife, daughter and the BF) silence after that lol.

Having a pretty daughter could be worse for me for sure but she's fairly conservative.

That's why I wear gloves. :) What would you have done if he'd proceeded from clear to fieldstrip? lol

I'd have felt a lot better - my daughter says the knife I gave him would be more useful in a fight if she had it lol. She wants to be a pasavist but I raised her to be a scrapper.

Oh, and I read this site for news, play 1 game, watch Netflix hulu and YouTube. That's pretty much it.

I prefer all that high-minded pacifism stuff myself... just that in order to communicate with others you have to speak a language they understand, and human predators only understand the language of force and violence.

I come in peace, General Mattis style, and plead with all around me with tears in my eyes similarly.

News/current events- right of center (usually, but not entirely), whatever historical/geo-political topic Im researching at the time, LOTS of movies, video documentaries, music, reading and writing here and in boards and forums similar to this one with a conservative bent.. in short- This one, FALFiles, Survival boards...
Lotsa reading, writing, listening to/watching videos, music...;) As I compose this a recorded video of Pink Floyd The Wall is playing in another window, but it could just as well be bluegrass, Moody Blues, Tchaikovsky, Led Zep, White gospel, Wagner, SRV, Bach or Handel, "Goth rock", Liszt... etc. Being "Piscean" in 21st Century !USA! there is music for every mood:)...

Yep that's it brother I remember my uncle sitting at the kitchen table with a gun cleaning kit and a 308 deer Rifle just as a joke when my older cousins boy friend or dates would come to pick her up for a date even though it was a joke mmmmmm it really wasn't because it put that little spark in the back of there head
I can relate. When my then-16 year-old daughter had her First Date come to pick her up I made a point to be putting an edge on my broadsword in the front room... and not so subtly drew attention to the :s0108:baseball bat by the front door... Guess I screwed the pooch on that one cuz later the wife and a tearful lass told me I was ruining her social life...
