I know I don't have granite or tile. But I don't know what I do have. I think it might be Formica or something similar.
The home was completed in 2002 (so 20 years old) and was built by a contractor who carries a reputation for building higher-than-average quality homes.
The front coping consists of short (6"±) ceramic tile pieces and the backsplash also employs a matching ceramic tiling.
Both the front edge coping and the backsplash are grouted in place.
The countertops are tough as nails, they clean up really well, and I don't break glassware when I drop shhit on the counter, so there's that...
So what is this stuff? Formica? Micarta? Linoleum flooring? Alien technology?
