Yep! Quite a parade & ceremony!So awesome.
FWIW Wikipedia is never wrong.I thought I knew a little about the customs and traditions of the US Army. But I don't recall being aware that June 14th is the army's birthday. Further, I don't recall it being celebrated on any army post I was stationed at on the appointed day.
I can't hardly believe there were 70K in Peeattle. No Kings ....... bratty kids demanding someone listen to their diatribe .
The lack of Modern day Sporting Rifles would be an attack on our Constitutional Republic is more like it .... Primal Jay & Paypal .I can't hardly believe there were 70K in Peeattle.
I caught a few minutes of U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal 'modulating'.
She said (If I recall) 'The presence of assault weapons is a political attack on democracy'
The rest of what she said made even less sense....
As long as they can fight I'm not worried about perfect marchingI just watched the parade online. I hope our enemies weren't watching. Most of the marching was pretty slack. I'd expect much better for a presidential review. Lots of soldiers out of step. It was pretty obvious to me that soldiers in some of the formations just weren't used to close order drill. On very many occasions, senior crew members in vehicles failed to render the salute to the reviewing stand. In fact, the vehicle crewmen mostly presented a very un-warrior like conduct. Playing to the crowd, clowning around.
In the army, the standard parade rate of march is a 30 inch step quick march at 120 steps per minute. I don't know what happened, but one of the armored divisions (I couldn't see the number on their flag) was marching at some weird trot, maybe copied from the Ethiopian Army. There is a half step rate of march, not often used, but it's done at the same rate as the quick march but with a 15 inch step.
No doubt there were many reserve components units in the order of march. I guess you can expect these soldiers to be less used to marching. I saw the 42d ID there, they are ARNG, their marching performance was some of the better.
But I think they should do these things more often.
Yea I noticed that as well.Lots of soldiers out of step. It was pretty obvious to me that soldiers in some of the formations just weren't used to close order drill.
And this as well. Probably half or less DIDN'T render a salute. On very many occasions, senior crew members in vehicles failed to render the salute to the reviewing stand.
Nothing that comes out of her mouth ever comes close to sense.I can't hardly believe there were 70K in Peeattle.
