Just saw this posted on another forum. It's a news article from before Xmas.

Inslee?s budget includes little-noticed gun control provision | The Olympia Report

…“$409,000 of the general fund (on a) state appropriation (to fund) seven temporary staff to eliminate the firearm-transfer backlog of 144,000 documents by June 30, 2015. The department shall convene a work group to develop a report on making the firearms program a fee-recovery program. The work group must examine changes including but not limited to making firearm-transfer reporting mandatory, charging a fee for firearms transfer recording, and recommending cost-recovery methods to keep up with demand.”

I guess he figures 591 will fail and 594 will pass!

Another thing is that they're taxing (pay a fee) a Constitutional right, is that even legal now?

Innocently disguised as a paperwork backlog clean-up...these people are conniving, asswipes! Notice how they are hiring temporary staff so as not to have to pay them any benefits :s0140:. Is this at Inslee's discretion and no up/down vote on the proposed expenditure is required, or is this part of a proposed budget that still has to clear the legislation? Either way, I'll be sending out e-mails to my representatives.
