Untrustworthy reloads

Take them apart and reuse the projectiles and the primed brass. I would probably use the unknown powder for lawn fertilizer.

Mine's wet, I'd use a can.

I'm gonna throw this out there, if they're 38 of any flavor, you might be able to fire them in a sturdy .357 safely? I believe the pressure in .357 is nearly double that of .38 special. I'm not saying I "would" but that I "might" and certainly it's a judgement call for the individual shooter.....

My issue is its easy to double charge a pistol round.

How many do you have? If a lot it's worth getting the tools if you don't have them. Or give them away or sell them here.

I like to use any odd powder for science projects for the grandkids. That way, they have all kinds of crazy stories when they go home.

The thing with stumbled upon
reloads is that you just don't know who assembled them and what their recipe was. That unknown factor can be worrisome.

I have reloads for a 45LC rifle that would likely blow up a revolver.

Remove the projectiles with a bullet puller. Toss the powder in your lawn i guess or on your wet wood burn pile. For the primers i would just fire them off in the revolver. Or if they still look good you can reload'em.

thanks for the offer, but no thanks due to distance;
maybe consider spending $20 on a decent inertial bullet puller would be a good start;
if you reload at all or plan to, eventually you will find it handy to have one on hand.

As already mentioned by @41mag, an inertial bullet puller is inexpensive and if you are a reloaded a great addition to your tool kit.

Should you find yourself in a similar situation somewhere down the pike making your own kinetic bullet puller is easy.
