I could of course be proved wrong but I will predict the new Fed 30 Super will soon join the list.
Federal is trying to make Fetch happen.

And normally I wouldn't care but one has to scratch their head at them trying to release a new cartridge when they can't even keep up with the current demand for the standard stuff.

Few exceptions.
As exceptions, I propose:

.222 Remington, which led to .223 Rem. and 5.56mm

I do not include .222 Rem. Mag, which was an accident of history and was never a viable commercial cartridge, although rifles were made in it.

I still like the original .222 Rem. and I would have one except that I have .223's now. Colt made a few SP1's in .222 Rem. for export to countries where .223 Rem. was outlawed.

.45-70 auto. Basically a rimless, souped up .45-70 offeted by one company for one rifle thats spendier than a bolt action .50BMG  edit. Phoenix Weaponry. They have the .45-70 Auto AR10 for $4,800, and the ammo is $90/20 ($4.50 per round ) :s0001:

Lake City surplus .50bmg; $3 per round
.50BMG
Serbu, Noreen, Armalite, Safety Harbor all offer .50BMGs from $1,900-3,400.

I miss my .22 K Hornet. I built it with a .22 target barrel on a small Martini frame. I used a high rise butt stock for a Enfield and mounted a V-22 4x6 scope. My forearm was a length of mahogany, flat on the bottom for a steady hold. Sold it to someone at work. :( I sure did put a dent in the digger squirrel population around K Falls. :s0093:

.357 and 44 Automag. Great concept----shortened (44) and shortened
and necked(357) 308. Limited by a lack of available platforms.
I'm a bit surprised that the Desert Eagle never chambered them, and
they would make an interesting gun on the AR pattern.

.223, .243, .25, .270, 7mm Winchester Super Short Magnums. The .300 WSSM was the only one that seemed to make it of the bunch.

Remington 375 RUM, 7mm RUM, and .338 RUM just to name a few that are niche calibers
I know I own a .223 .243, and .25 wssm, they are a hoot to shoot, but nearly dead, I took a nice elk about 6 years ago with the .243 wssm.

It was reported that Skeeter Skelton was almost apoplectic, screaming and yelling how absolutely useless the .32 H & R Magnum was, since we already had the .32-20 WCF. He was right.

We are lucky he never saw the .327 Federal.

The .450 Marlin is nothing but a "redux" of the .458 American: An amazing, practical and useful wildcat.

Herters 401 Powermag. 357 Atomic (if it ever actually existed).
357 Maximum as a revolver cartridge.
There were two Ruger revolvers chambered in .357 Maximum at the ARPC show last month. If I recall, 6" and 8" barrels. $2,600.00-$2,700.00. The guns, in a case, appeared pristine.

.41 Action Express
.256 Winchester (and the Ruger Hawkeye that chambered it)
.22 Jet
5mm Remington Rimfire Magnum
.222 Remington Magnum
