I used the 22 Short out of my favorite Marlin rifle for killin rats. Nice and quiet. Accurate as can be at 15-20 yards.

Yeah, I'd say it's under appreciated.
 
I think the .270 weatherby mag is a great round that is severely overshadowed by the .300 weatherby mag. I have put everything from a coyote to an elk down with only one shot. Never had to put 2 in anything I've shot with it. My dad used his on a moose hunt and dropped his moose with one shot as well
