Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Here is a what if question.
If they passed a law that you could keep but not sell or pass on your ar15.
Could you make a trust and put your family on it to pass on your ar15.
Lets hope it never comes to that but would this be an option.
in calif the guns had to be registered / grandfathered in. if they are in a trust it is easier to pass them on. if we see an outright ban---"turn them in or we arrest you" then a trust is useless. A trust just makes the "owner" of the gun an entity that can live forever thus controll of the trust can transfer from family member to family member. My brother is in The socialistic state of calif. its bad down there but he still legally posses all the guns he had prior to all the legislation. a trust is just one more thing that can potentially be in our favor depending on how any new legislation panns out. hopefully there will be no new legislation. keep calling our politicians and yelling at them.
