"Dead family, dead children, dead spouse... what more could a man ask?"
Seriously? I hope you have close friends, that you can count on, that are nearby. I don't even know you and my heart aches.
Tongue Point Naval Station on December 1st, 1954, in a little brick Dispensary, about 1/8 mile past the Guard Gate was where I came "down the pike". 62 years has just flown by.
Dead family, dead children, dead spouse... what more could a man ask?
You said just a few days ago:
"My entire family is dead. (My living children are estranged, so to me, they are nothing). I know what it's like to see people my age die around me. Life is very brief."
So you have living children it seems. Maybe now is a great time to reach out to them to mend those fences before it's too late?
And BTW, happy birthday. Life is what you make of my friend.
Hmm I'd imagine it relatively "easy" yet still challenging to track them down given computers and the interwebs. Probably not very pricey either, depending upon what you can find out on your own, before having to pass on to a professional.
Pretty much you can do whatever you set your mind to, now once you find them...making contact or not would then be up to you. Wether or not they'd want contact, well you wouldn't know that now would you?
Thanks for the suggestion, but in this instance, I think that I will "let sleeping dogs lie". Had they wanted to find me, they would have done so by now.
Why should I interrupt their lives?
