I absolutely LOVED Sgt. Rock comic books when I was a kid! I never really "fell in love" with the whole superhero themed stuff, even as a kid. I preferred Ghost Rider, and the "Barbarian" genre/themed materials.

Really when you look at it, it is more on topic than most here.
It is the brewing of anti gunners and the kids in the future that will destroy the 2nd amendment because of the lefts brainwashing.
They will be the future lawmakers and we must make sure their minds are filled with the true history of our constitution and not distorted by marxists, communists and socialists, which is what is happening now.

The ranges in schools were not all killed by the leftie's anti gun agenda. Most were killed by the realization that lead was poisonous. Non of the indoor ranges had proper ventilation and lead disposal. That is why the ranges in right wing areas also had to shut them down. It was more cost effective to go outdoors/rent another range than to rebuild a safe one. Both my middle school (Alice Ott) and my high (David Douglas) had indoor shooting ranges, and both used them as storage sadly.

It would be nice to see ranges in school become popular again. I think it would have a really good impact in ridding America of some of it's hoplophobic views.

growing up with superheros in the 80s/90s, when most of them became politically correct, it always sort of bothered me that a lot of them didn't use a firearm when fighting against villians who most often did. I really preferred to read some of the adult graphic novels that were coming out at the time, when super-heroes (really, more like super-vigilantes) acted the business.

I made it to the third grade (1998?) Before they banned the playground "war" games. We didn't call it Cowboys and Indians, or cops and robbers. Just "War". I made the best grenade sound of any of my friends...And then no more. They banned tag that year because some kid tripped and got hurt.

Unfortunately the Sgt. Rock series came to an end in 88, another one I recall that was a spinoff from Rock was the Unknown Soldier - that series ended in 82. Both were entertaining "back in the day" I'm guessing the current generation in schools are relegated to reading "PC" approved garbage that leans toward constitutional rights being more along the lines of constitutional guidelines that are up for interpretation that fits the agenda of the administration of the day and can be taken or given at a whim...

Rock was great, and there was one about a Stuart tank and crew. I used to laugh out how that little 37mm pop gun would wipe out a Tiger tank with a necklace of HE around the turret ring. Anthro the Caveman was good. I was not much of a Superhero guy but like the big Classics where they'd do 20,000 Leagues in comic book style.

Simpler days, no doubt.

Did anyone ever read the 'Nam Marvel Comics Series? I did when I was a kid and am now trying to collect them all again. Sgt. Rock, Unknown Soldier and all that were great.

God forbid little boys play something that might make them grow a set. War, Cops & Robbers, Cowboy & Indians(excuse me. Cowboys & Native Americans.) are all natural, normal things.

These days, some folks would rather have their kid emulate Jay-Z and Kanye West rather than Joe Foss and Audie Murphy. That is why we moved as far away from a metropolitan area as possible. Out here, we know who Foss and Murphy are. The references to Jay-Z and Kanye West get the dumbfounded looks. I'm finally home.

Yeah, we called it "war" & "army" in the 70's & 80's too. I remember making real-deal punji-stick traps (minus the VC poop-dip)... and always made them highly visible so nobody actually fell into them... It was just a "craft" that we learned and practiced.

Dang, all these great titles ya'll keep pulling out of my foggy memory... I used to love reading Nam comic books while at the Barber Shop waiting my turn for a buzz cut. My hair never looked like the pictures of the guys on the wall with pointy sideburns that I wanted, and at 8 & 9 I could never figure out why... LOL!
